Export Import Documents

The Foreign Trade Policy requires that, in order to conduct business, both importers and exporters produce specific commercial documents. These documents are required by the Indian government to ensure that all parties involved in a transaction have the necessary information to make informed decisions. The purpose of these documents is to protect both parties involved in the transaction as well as to provide transparency across borders.
It requires the following documents for importing and exporting activities:

Import of Goods.

  • Bill of Entry.
  • Commercial invoice.
  • Packing List.
  • Bill of Lading.
  • Foreign Exchange Control Form (Form A-1)
  • Terminal Handling Receipt.
  • Certified Engineer’s Report.
  • Cargo Release Order.
